Currently, classes are closed, but the next sessions start:
Aikido: July 20 - September 5
Iaido - Japanese Swordsmanship: July 22 - September 5
Aikido For Kids: Closed Until Further Notice
Social distancing, masks, sanitizing, and other current precautions will be required. Safety is our priority.
New students, please wear loose fitting modest sports clothing (no shorts), or a training uniform
Students, current and new, please fill out and bring to class the new COVID-19 waiver
Aikido
Monday and Wednesday (6:30 - 7:30 PM), Instructor: Oanh Rosenthal
Saturday (9:30 - 10:30 AM, Instructor: Shawn Kenyon
Class limited to 10 students
Fee is $40 for 7 weeks
Training will be non-contact, and will consist of Aikido exercises, falling safely, forms, and weapons training. The class content will reinforce skills that will later be useful for contact Aikido, when permitted. Weapons will be provided but students are encouraged to bring their own.
Japanese Swordsmanship - Iaido
Wednesday (7:30 - 8:30 PM) and Saturday (8:00 - 9:30 AM), Instructor: Oanh Rosenthal
Class limited to 10 students
Fee is $60 for 7 weeks
Iaido is a non-contact art. This class focuses on the basics of the Japanese art of Iaido. Training is in both contemporary and traditional Japanese sword forms. Students use an iaito (unsharpened sword - must be approved by instructor) or bokken (wooden sword). Swords are provided for beginners.
Zazen (sitting meditation) is optional for students from 9:00 - 9:30 AM on Saturdays only.
